Mushroom push button STOP | 22 mm | 1NC | red | IP40 | latching | Promfactor Baltic | FP CM r
FP CM r is a red mushroom STOP push button switch from the Promfactor Baltic FP series, with 1NC contact. It is mounted in a Ø 22 mm hole in a panel door, control desk or push button enclosure; front protection degree IP40.
Key idea:
According to EN 60204-1, red is intended for stopping (STOP / OFF). Red must not be used for starting, and near an emergency stop the standard recommends a black STOP button. The NC contact opens the circuit when pressed, and if a wire breaks the device also stops – this is the safe STOP principle.Contact

redHow it works
The button is inserted into a Ø 22 mm hole and tightened from the rear with a nut. The contact block is connected with screw terminals, tightening torque 0.8 Nm.
When the mushroom is pressed, the NC contact opens the control circuit and the button latches in the pressed position. The circuit closes again only after the latch is released (by twisting the head). Releasing the latch must not restart the equipment by itself – a separate START is required.
The button controls only the control circuit: a contactor coil, a relay or a controller input. Motor current is switched by a contactor, not by the button.
Why choose FP CM r? The large mushroom head is easy to hit with the palm, and the latch prevents the equipment from starting until the button is deliberately released.Technical specifications

- 1NC contact – opens the control circuit when pressed
- Latching – stays pressed, released by twisting
- Ø 22 mm mounting – fits standard panel holes and push button enclosures
- Screw terminals – reliable wire connection, 0.8 Nm
Where is it used?
- Stopping conveyors, machine tools and lines
- STOP control stations for pumping stations and ventilation units
- Push button enclosures at machines
- Circuits where stopping must stay latched until deliberately released
Use by need
For the installing electrician. A standard 22 mm hole, screw terminals and clear contact marking allow quick installation and replacement of an old button. For automation panel builders. Buttons, lamps and START–STOP units from one series allow a panel with a uniform look. For equipment maintenance. A frequently replaced component worth keeping in stock by colour and contact.Practical use
On a conveyor control desk the STOP mushroom stops the line and stays latched until the service worker removes the cause and deliberately releases the button.Pros- Large, easy-to-hit head
- Latch prevents unintended restart
- Standard Ø 22 mm hole
- Ui 660 V, AC-15 / DC-13
Cons- IP40 – not suitable outdoors or in washdown areas without an extra cover
- No illumination – a lamp is needed to show the status
- Suitable for machine emergency stopping only with EN ISO 13850 / IEC 60947-5-5 compliance
Safety and installation notes
- Installation and connection must be performed by a qualified electrician after disconnecting the voltage and verifying that there is none.
- Protect the control circuit with a separate circuit breaker or fuse according to the wire cross-section.
- Use an NC contact for the STOP function and a spring-return NO with contactor self-holding for START.
- Metal doors with equipment must be connected to PE.
- On machines the emergency stop circuit is connected through a safety relay, and the category is determined by the risk assessment (EN ISO 13849-1).
