  • Cable gland with nut and seal | PG13.5 | for cable Ø6–12 mm | black | IP67 | PG-13.5B

    Code: PG-13.5B

Black polyamide cable gland with a PG13.5 thread and a compression nut. It seals one round cable with an outer diameter of 6–12 mm – three-phase 5×1.5–5×2.5 mm² cables (a guide only – the outer diameter decides). Protection IP67 (EN 60529), operating temperature −40…+85 °C.

  • Cable gland with nut and seal | PG13.5 | for cable Ø6–12 mm | black | IP67 | PG-13.5B

PG-13.5B is a black PG13.5 cable gland made of polyamide. It is screwed into a threaded PG13.5 opening or inserted into a plain Ø 20.4 mm hole and secured from inside with a lock nut. When the nut is tightened, the seal wraps around the cable sheath and closes the gap between cable and enclosure.

    Key point:
PG13.5 is the largest size in this IP67 series, intended for three-phase 5×1.5–5×2.5 mm² cables feeding motors, compressors or heat pumps. The Ø6–12 mm range and the 20.4 mm thread outer diameter let you seal a thicker cable into a terminal box or small panel. The black colour is chosen for black equipment housings, machine covers and dark facades where a grey entry would stand out.

    How it works

Installation. With the power off, prepare a PG13.5 threaded or Ø 20.4 mm opening in the enclosure, screw in and tighten the gland, then pass the cable through the loosened nut.

Operation. Turning the nut compresses the seal around the cable – it presses evenly onto the Ø6–12 mm sheath and also holds the cable against pull-out.

Result. A tight IP67 entry: dust stays out, and temporary immersion (EN 60529 test – up to 1 m depth, 30 min) does not break the seal.

    What makes PG-13.5B useful?
It seals a three-phase cable into equipment without adapters: the Ø6–12 mm range covers most 5×1.5–5×2.5 mm² cables, and the black colour suits black equipment housings.

    Main functions

    • IP67 sealing – protection against dust and temporary immersion.
    • Cable retention – the tightened nut reduces pull on the terminals.
    • PG13.5 thread – fits standard PG13.5 openings, thread outer diameter 20.4 mm.
    • Range Ø6–12 mm – three-phase 5×1.5–5×2.5 mm² cables (a guide only – the outer diameter decides).
    • Polyamide body – does not corrode, non-conductive, works at −40…+85 °C.
    • Black colour – matches black equipment housings and dark surfaces.

    Where is it used?

    • Terminal boxes of three-phase motors and pumps
    • Power entries of heat-pump and air-conditioner outdoor units
    • Connection of workshop machines and compressors
    • Outdoor and damp-room installations where IP67 is required
    • Equipment housings where the cable enters through the wall
    • Repairs where an old, cracked cable entry is replaced
    • Black machine and equipment housings, dark facades

    Use by need

    For the industrial maintenance electrician.
Three-phase motor and pump cables usually fit Ø6–12 mm – one size for most terminal-box connections.
    For the designer.
In the specification it is enough to state PG13.5, cable Ø6–12 mm and IP67 – the parameters are clear, and the IP68 alternative 00841 (PG13.5, Ø6–12 mm) has the same thread.
    For the equipment manufacturer.
A black gland matches a black product housing – no contrasting grey parts on a series-built product.

    Practical use

If you are connecting a heat-pump outdoor unit with a 5×2.5 mm² cable of about 11 mm outer diameter, PG-13.5B will suit the entry into the unit or the external isolator box: the cable fits the Ø6–12 mm range and the black gland does not stand out on a dark housing.

    Pros

    • Defined range Ø6–12 mm for one PG13.5 size
    • IP67 according to EN 60529
    • Operating temperature −40…+85 °C – suitable for unheated rooms and outdoor equipment
    • Polyamide – rust-free and non-conductive
    • The tightened nut both seals and holds the cable
    • Black colour – a neat look on black and dark housings

    Cons / limitations

    • IP67, not IP68 – for permanent immersion choose IP68 00841 (PG13.5, Ø6–12 mm) or ES-PG13.5B.
    • Limited range: for a cable thinner than 6 mm choose PG-11B (PG11, Ø5–10 mm); for one thicker than 12 mm – IP68 00858 (PG16, Ø10–14 mm).
    • One gland – one round cable; not for flat cables or several wires.
    • Not a fire barrier – it does not replace fire-rated cable penetrations.

    Safety and installation notes

    • Work in a panel or box only with the power disconnected and the absence of voltage verified.
    • After drilling, remove all swarf from the enclosure – it can cause a short circuit.
    • Drill the hole to the thread outer diameter of 20.4 mm – in an oversized hole the seal is not guaranteed.
    • Tighten the nut until the cable no longer moves in the seal; overtightening can damage the plastic thread.
    • Route the cable from below or with a drip loop so water does not run along it to the gland.

    Quick selection guide

    PG13.5 thread (Ø 20.4 mm)
    Cable Ø6–12 mm
    IP67, −40…+85 °C
    Black, polyamide
    Suitable when you need:
    • to bring in a three-phase five-core cable (Ø6–12 mm)
    • for the entry to match a black or dark housing
    • to protect the entry against rain, dust and splashes
    Check before use:
    • The cable outer diameter with a caliper – it must be 6–12 mm.
    • The opening type: threaded PG13.5 or plain Ø 20.4 mm hole (then a lock nut is needed).
    • Whether the entry will be in direct sunlight – UV resistance is not stated in our data.
Important reminder: The gland seals and holds one cable, but it is not a fire barrier and does not replace an IP68 gland where the entry is permanently under water.

    FAQ

What cable size does PG-13.5B fit?
A cable with an outer diameter of 6–12 mm – measure the sheath, not the conductor cross-section in mm².
    Will PG13.5 fit a 5×4 mm² cable?
Only if its outer diameter does not exceed 12 mm; if thicker, choose IP68 00858 (PG16, Ø10–14 mm) or Haupa 250050 (M25×1.5, Ø13–18 mm) for a metric opening.
Is PG-13.5B suitable for permanent operation under water?
No – IP67 is for temporary immersion; for permanent immersion choose IP68 00841 (PG13.5, Ø6–12 mm).
What opening does a PG13.5 gland need?
A threaded PG13.5 opening or a plain hole matching the 20.4 mm thread outer diameter, with a lock nut on the inside.
Is there a grey PG13.5 version?
    Not in this IP67 series; for a grey housing choose IP68 00841 (PG13.5, Ø6–12 mm) or ES-PG13.5.
Can two wires be passed through one gland?
No – the seal only closes around one round cable; use a separate gland for each cable.
