    Modular digital voltage control relay – 1P 63A 230V DIN

    Modular digital voltage control relay, designed to protect a single-phase 230 V electrical system against dangerous voltage fluctuations, undervoltage, overvoltage and overcurrent. The relay continuously monitors network parameters and, when the set limits exceed permissible values, automatically disconnects the load. When the voltage or current returns to the set limits, the device can automatically restore the power supply after the set delay time.

    Operating principle

    The voltage control relay continuously monitors the voltage and current of a single-phase electrical system. If the voltage rises above the set upper limit, drops below the set lower limit or the load current exceeds the set limit, the relay disconnects the power supply to the connected load.

    When the network parameters return to a safe range, the relay can automatically restore power after the set delay time. This helps protect electrical devices against unstable mains supply, momentary voltage surges, voltage drops and overload situations.

    Why is a voltage control relay needed?
    Momentary voltage surges, drops or unstable power supply may occur in the electrical network. Such situations can damage household appliances, electronic equipment, heating controllers, pumps, automation or other more sensitive devices. A voltage control relay helps disconnect the load in time and reduce the risk of failures.

    Where is it used?

    • Residential houses – for protecting household appliances, heating controllers, pumps and electronics.
    • Apartments and cottages – for voltage control of single-phase electrical installations.
    • Workshops and garages – for protecting tools, compressors, automation and technical equipment against voltage fluctuations.
    • Agricultural facilities – for protecting pumps, fans, refrigeration, heating and other 230 V devices.
    • Electrical panels – as a modular DIN rail device for monitoring a single-phase line.

    Practical installation example

    For example, the relay is installed in an electrical panel on a DIN rail before the protected single-phase load or load group. The device monitors the network voltage and current, and when the set limits are exceeded, it disconnects the power supply. When the voltage and current return to a safe range, the relay can automatically switch the power supply back on after the set delay time.

    This solution is useful where the electrical network is unstable, voltage drops or surges occur frequently, or when additional protection for more expensive electrical devices is desired.

    Advantages

    • Reliable device protection – helps protect against undervoltage and overvoltage.
    • Overcurrent control – allows setting a current limit up to 63 A.
    • Automatic recovery – power can be restored automatically after the set delay time.
    • Adjustable parameters – voltage, current and delay limits can be set according to need.
    • Longer device service life – reduces the risk of failures caused by unstable mains supply.
    • Low power consumption – consumes less than 2 W.
    • DIN rail mounting – easily integrated into an electrical panel.

    Disadvantages / limitations

    • Single-phase system only – the relay is intended for a 1P / 230 V network, therefore it is not suitable for three-phase systems without additional solutions.
    • 63 A current limit – higher loads require another solution or an additional contactor circuit.
    • Does not replace all protection devices – the relay is not a circuit breaker, RCD or surge protection device.
    • Correct settings are required – incorrectly selected limits may cause unnecessary disconnection or insufficient protection.
    • Initial purchase cost – an additional device in the electrical panel, but it can help reduce the risk of equipment failures.

    Safety and installation notes

    The voltage control relay is a protection and control component for an electrical panel, therefore before installation it is necessary to evaluate the load, cable cross-sections, circuit breaker rating, earthing, protection devices and the specific electrical diagram.

    • Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician, in accordance with applicable electrical safety requirements.
    • The rated current of 63 A must not be exceeded – higher loads require an additional solution.
    • The relay does not replace a circuit breaker – the circuit still requires short-circuit and overload protection according to the diagram.
    • The relay does not replace RCD / RCBO – separate protection devices are required for personal protection against leakage current.
    • The relay does not replace a surge protection device – SPD is required for protection against lightning and impulse overvoltages.
    • Before use it is necessary to set suitable voltage, current and delay limits according to the specific equipment.

    Quick selection guide

    This is a suitable choice when protection of a single-phase 230 V electrical system against overvoltage, undervoltage and overcurrent is required. The relay is mounted on a DIN rail and allows the main operating parameters to be adjusted according to the specific load.

    System

    • have an overcurrent limit setting up to 63 A;
    • automatically restore power after network parameters stabilise;
    • mount protection in an electrical panel on a DIN rail.
    Check before installation:
    • whether the system is single-phase 230 V;
    • whether the load current does not exceed 63 A;
    • whether an additional contactor circuit is required for a higher load;
    • whether the set voltage limits are suitable for the protected equipment;
    • whether the circuit includes circuit breakers, RCD / RCBO and SPD if required.
    Important reminder:
    This relay is a voltage and current control device. It does not compensate voltage, does not filter interference and does not replace a circuit breaker, RCD / RCBO or surge protection device. Protections must be selected according to the specific electrical diagram.
