Modular single-phase electricity meter | 5(50) A | 230 V | S0 pulse output | MID | DIN | THORGEON 01005
THORGEON 01005 is a one-module (18 mm) single-phase kWh meter for 230 V networks, connected directly up to 50 A. It is MID certified and has an S0 pulse output of 1000 imp/kWh.
Key point:
When one circuit has to be metered separately and lawfully – a rented flat, garage, summer house or single-phase charging circuit – this meter takes only one module. MID allows you to bill a tenant based on its readings, and the S0 output sends pulses to a PLC or data logger.Current

1-phase directup to 50 AMID class BS0 1000 imp/kWh18 mmSuitable when you need:- MID-approved metering of one phase – for billing tenants or splitting costs
- A compact meter when only one free module is left in the panel
- A pulse signal to a PLC, BMS or data logger
Check before use:- Continuous load does not exceed 50 A
- The circuit is single-phase 230 V (L–N)
- You do not need Modbus, wireless or separate import / export metering
Important: The meter only measures energy – it does not protect the circuit and does not replace a circuit breaker or RCD.Operating principle
The meter is mounted on a 35 mm DIN rail and connected directly into a single-phase circuit: the phase passes through the meter and the neutral is connected to its terminal. No current transformers are needed.
The electronic measuring circuit continuously calculates active energy and accumulates the total kWh, shown on the LCD.
Each kWh consumed is also sent as 1000 pulses via the S0 output, so readings can be counted remotely in an external system.
Why choose THORGEON 01005?
It combines MID-approved accuracy with minimum width: a separately metered circuit does not require rebuilding the panel or finding space for a four-module meter.Technical specifications

- MID certificate – readings are valid for billing between landlord and tenant
- Direct connection up to 50 A – no current transformers or extra equipment
- 1-module housing – fits even into an almost full panel
- S0 pulse output 1000 imp/kWh – readings to a PLC, BMS or data logger
- LCD display – readings can be taken on site without tools
- No configuration – starts counting right after installation
Where is it used?
- Rented flats, rooms and commercial premises
- Garages, storage rooms and workshops
- Summer houses and saunas
- Single-phase EV charging circuits
- Heat pump, boiler or air conditioner circuits
- Sub-metering in housing associations and business centres
- Upgrading existing panels with limited space
Use by need
For landlords and housing associations.
MID-approved readings for billing tenants without disputes over accuracy. For installers.
A one-module meter fits into an existing panel without rebuilding it.For automation integrators.
Standard S0 signal, 1000 imp/kWh, to a counter input.Practical example
If you rent out a separate flat in your house with its own single-phase circuit, install THORGEON 01005 next to that circuit's breaker. Each month you take the MID-approved reading and invoice the actual kWh consumed.Pros
- MID certificate, class B
- Only 18 mm wide
- Direct connection up to 50 A
- S0 pulse output 1000 imp/kWh
- No configuration needed
- Readings visible on the LCD
Cons / limitations
- Single-phase only – for a three-phase circuit choose a three-phase meter
- No Modbus or wireless – for remote reading choose a Modbus meter
- Single tariff
- Import / export separation not specified – for solar PV metering choose a bidirectional meter
- IP20 – for enclosed panels only
Safety and installation notes
- Installation by a qualified electrician only, with the power off.
- Install upstream protection according to the cable cross-section; continuous current must not exceed 50 A.
- Follow the terminal markings – swapping input and output will give incorrect readings.
- Connect the S0 output only to a low-voltage pulse input according to the manufacturer's diagram.
- IP20 housing – install only in an enclosed panel.
