Modular three-phase electricity meter | 5(100) A | 3×230/400 V | 1 tariff | pulse output | IP20 | DIN | THORGEON 01003
THORGEON 01003 is a modular three-phase electronic meter connected directly into the circuit up to 100 A. It records active energy of a separate line, building or machine and mounts on a DIN rail in the distribution board.
Key point:
100 A maximum current without current transformers means a simpler board and fewer connections. Where you need to know how much a workshop, heat pump or tenant consumes, this meter gives a clear kWh reading plus a pulse signal for further accounting. It is not suitable for billing – the manufacturer does not state MID approval.Max. current

4 modulesℹBidirectional metering
The manufacturer does not state that the meter records imported and exported energy separately. If energy exported to the grid must be metered separately, choose a clearly bidirectional model, e.g. EL-TVPS3-80T.Communication interfaces and integration
Electrical pulse output (400 imp/kWh)
Sends pulses to an external counter, PLC, data logger or BMS pulse input – consumption can be totalised remotely without a digital bus.Local LCD display
Readings are taken at the board. This model has no RS485, M-Bus or Wi-Fi interface. How it works
The meter mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail; the three phases and neutral are connected directly – no current transformers are needed up to 100 A.
The electronic measuring circuit continuously records active energy on all three phases, with each kWh corresponding to 400 pulses at the output.
The LCD shows the accumulated kWh value, and the pulse signal can be passed to an automation or metering system.
Why choose the THORGEON 01003?
It is a simple, compact solution for internal three-phase metering where current can reach 100 A. No CTs, extra terminal blocks or programming – install, connect and you have a kWh reading and a pulse signal.Technical specifications

How does it differ from similar models?
THORGEON 01002 Same series, up to 80 A; the 01003 allows up to 100 A maximum current. THORGEON 01006 80 A with manufacturer-stated MID and 800 imp/kWh; the 01003 has no MID but goes up to 100 A. THORGEON 01007 80 A, 2 tariffs, RS485 Modbus and MID; the 01003 has no digital interface, only a pulse output. Eastron SDM630-MT 100 A, 4 tariffs, RS485 Modbus, MID and multifunction measurement – a higher-end option; the 01003 is for plain kWh metering. Where is it used?
- Internal metering of a workshop or production line
- Metering of rented premises or a warehouse
- Monitoring a heat pump, boiler or compressor
- EV charger circuit metering
- Three-phase lines in farm buildings
- Construction site distribution boards
Use by need
Electricians.
Fast direct installation up to 100 A with no CTs or programming.Facility managers.
Internal allocation of consumption between zones or tenants in kWh.Automation integrators.
400 imp/kWh signal to a PLC or BMS pulse input.Practical use
If a workshop has machines fed via 3×63 A and you want to know their monthly consumption, install the THORGEON 01003 in their line after the incoming breaker and connect the pulse output to the existing PLC – consumption is visible both on the display and in the system.Pros
- Direct connection up to 100 A
- Compact 4-module housing
- 400 imp/kWh pulse output
- Simple to use, no programming
- 24-month manufacturer warranty
Cons / limitations
- No MID – not for billing (choose THORGEON 01006 or 01007)
- No RS485 / Wi-Fi interface (for remote reading – THORGEON 01007 or 01011)
- Single tariff
- Bidirectional metering not stated by the manufacturer
Safety and installation notes
- Installation by a qualified electrician only, with the supply disconnected
- An upstream circuit breaker is mandatory, sized to the cable and not exceeding the meter's 100 A limit
- Choose conductor cross-section and tightening torque per the manual and the load
- IP20 – install only in a closed enclosure in a dry room
- Follow the phase and neutral wiring diagram shown on the housing
Quick selection guide
Direct up to 100 A3×230/400 V1 tariff, no MID400 imp/kWhA good fit when you need:- Internal three-phase metering up to 100 A
- A pulse signal to automation
- A compact DIN board solution
Check before use:- That MID is not required (billing third parties)
- That maximum line current does not exceed 100 A
- That your PLC / logger accepts a 400 imp/kWh signal
Important reminder: This meter does not replace the grid operator's billing meter, and the manufacturer does not state separate import and export metering.FAQ
Are current transformers needed?
