Wall-mounted twilight switch with timer | 3–500 lx | 1200 W | IP44 | Design Light WYL-CR-M2-SZ-01
Design Light WYL-CR-M2-SZ-01 is a wall-mounted twilight switch with a built-in light sensor. At dusk it switches the lighting on, and the timer lets you choose whether the light stays on for a set number of hours or all night until dawn. It is mounted directly on the wall, so no panel space is needed.
Key point:
Yard or sign lighting is usually needed only in the evening. This relay switches the light on at dusk and switches it off by itself after a few hours – no separate timer and no manual switching needed.Switching threshold

wall-mounted, IP44Operating principle
The built-in sensor measures ambient light. When the light level falls below the set threshold, the relay switches on the connected lighting.
With the second knob you set the lighting time – from 1 to 8 h. After the set time the lighting is switched off until the next evening. In the end position the lighting stays on from dusk to dawn.
The relay is connected into the line ahead of the luminaire: phase, neutral and output to the load. The housing is surface-mounted on the wall.
Why limit the lighting time?
Decorative, sign or driveway lighting is often not needed after midnight. With 4–5 h set, the lighting is on in the evening when it is needed, and no energy is used for the rest of the night.Technical specifications
Product type Wall-mounted twilight switch (photo relay) with built-in sensor and timer Manufacturer / model Design Light WYL-CR-M2-SZ-01 Supply voltage 230 V AC, 50 Hz Maximum load 1200 W Switching threshold 3–500 lx, adjustable with a knob Lighting time 1–8 h or dusk to dawn Degree of protection IP44 Dimensions 118 × 69 × 40 mm Housing plastic, grey Mounting surface-mounted, on the wall Main functions
- Automatic switching on at dusk – lighting is on only when it is dark.
- Timer 1–8 h – lighting switches off after the set time.
- Until-dawn mode – when light is needed all night.
- Adjustable threshold 3–500 lx – you adapt the switching point to the site.
- Built-in sensor – no panel space and no sensor cable needed.
- Grey IP44 housing – unobtrusive on a facade, mounted under a canopy.
How does it differ from similar models?
- GTV CZ-2 – Relay of the same design: threshold 3–200 lx, timer 1–9 h, load up to 1500 W, white housing, 5-year manufacturer warranty.
- F&F AWZ – Wall-mounted with built-in sensor, 2–1000 lx and 16 A, IP65 housing – for more exposed locations, but without a timer.
- HOROZ 0890010001 – Simpler wall-mounted relay: 6 A, fixed 5–15 lx range, no timer.
- Night-Matic 3000 – Wall-mounted twilight switch with an energy-saving mode – when lighting needs to be reduced during the night.
Where is it used?
- Yard, path and driveway lighting
- Facade and terrace luminaires
- Sign and advertising lighting in the evening
- Outdoor luminaires of garages and farm buildings
- Automating existing outdoor lighting without panel work
Use by need
For the electrician.
Mounted on the wall next to the luminaire and connected into the existing line – no panel work and no sensor cable.For the homeowner.
The yard is lit in the evening, and after a few hours the light switches off by itself.For a shop or company.
The sign or entrance is lit for a set time every evening, without manual switching.Practical use
If facade luminaires are switched by a manual switch and are often forgotten until morning, mount the relay on the wall under the eaves where the light of the luminaires does not reach it. Set the threshold to about 10 lx and the time to 4 h. The lighting comes on at dusk and goes off late in the evening, regardless of the season.Pros
- Timer 1–8 h or until-dawn mode
- Wide threshold adjustment 3–500 lx
- Built-in sensor, no panel needed
- Load up to 1200 W
- Compact grey housing
Cons / limitations
- IP44 – for places not reached by direct rain; in exposed locations choose F&F AWZ (IP65)
- The manufacturer does not state a separate LED rating or current – for LED groups with high inrush current use a contactor
- No manual ON / OFF mode
⚠ Safety and installation notes
- Mount the relay so that the sensor sees daylight but is not reached by the light of the controlled luminaires or car headlights.
- The best place is under a canopy or eaves; cable entry from below so that water does not get into the housing.
- Do not exceed the 1200 W load; connect LED and floodlight groups with high inrush current via a contactor.
- Protect the line with a suitable circuit breaker.
- Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician after disconnecting and verifying the absence of voltage.
Quick selection guide
3–500 lx1–8 h / until dawnup to 1200 WIP44, wall-mountedSuitable when you need to:- switch on yard or facade lighting automatically at dusk;
- switch lighting off after a few hours without a separate timer;
- install control at the luminaire, without panel work.
Check before use:- load power and type (up to 1200 W, LED groups – via a contactor);
- whether the mounting location is protected from direct rain (IP44);
- that the light of the controlled luminaires will not reach the sensor.
Important reminder: a twilight switch controls lighting but does not replace protective devices; the lighting circuit must be protected by a circuit breaker.☝ Elsprendimai.eu recommends:- Modular contactors – when the LED or floodlight group exceeds the relay's capability.
- Modular time relays – when more advanced time control in the panel is needed.
- Photo relays and twilight switches – all twilight switches in one place.
FAQ
How do I set the lighting time?
With the time knob: from 1 to 8 h after switching on, or the end position – until dawn.What threshold should be set for yard lighting?
Usually 5–20 lx is enough; if the lighting comes on too early, lower the threshold.Can LED luminaires be connected?
Yes, without exceeding 1200 W. For larger LED groups use a contactor because of the inrush current.Why does the lighting flicker or cycle?
Most often the sensor is lit by the controlled luminaire itself – move the relay or the luminaire.Can it be mounted in an exposed location?
The housing is IP44 – best under a canopy. For exposed locations choose an IP65 relay.Wall-mounted twilight switch with timer | 3–500 lx | 1200 W | Design Light WYL-CR-M2-SZ-01
