  • Wireless crane remote control | 2 joysticks | 5 speeds | receiver 12 V AC/DC | 15 A relays | EL-F24-60-12

    Code: EL-F24-60-12

EL-F24-60-12 is the F24-60 joystick radio remote set with a 12 V AC/DC receiver and relays up to 15 A. It is intended for machines with a 12 V control circuit, such as battery-powered equipment.

  • Wireless joystick crane remote EL-F24-60-12 – 12 V AC/DC receiver

EL-F24-60-12 is an F24-60 type industrial radio remote with a belly-box transmitter and two joysticks for cranes, hoists and other lifting machinery. The transmitter sends commands by radio to the receiver, whose relays switch the contactor coils or the control inputs of a variable frequency drive. This is the version with a 12 V AC/DC receiver for machines with a 12 V control circuit.

    Key point:
The receiver supply voltage must match the control circuit voltage: the EL-F24-60-12 receiver is supplied with 12 V AC/DC, so it connects directly to such a circuit without an extra transformer. Two joysticks with 5 speed steps let you run several crane motions and change speed smoothly when the drive is controlled by a VFD.

    How it works

The receiver is mounted in or next to the crane panel and supplied from the control circuit. Each direction and speed-step relay is wired into a contactor coil or drive input circuit; limit switches and the NC interlock between opposite directions stay in the circuit.

When the transmitter is switched on with the key and START is pressed, the receiver MAIN relay energises the main contactor KM0. Pressing the mushroom STOP or losing the radio link drops the MAIN relay and stops all crane motions. Moving a joystick activates the direction relay and speed-step relays 1 to 5.

The operator walks next to the load, sees it up close and runs the hoist with one joystick and travel with the other. The belly-box transmitter on a strap keeps hands free of strain during long shifts.

    Why choose EL-F24-60-12?
EL-F24-60-12 combines two-joystick control with a receiver supplied with 12 V AC/DC. This shortens installation and reduces wiring errors when connecting to an existing control circuit.

    Key functions

    • 2 joysticks – several crane motions controlled at the same time
    • 5 speed steps – smooth start and accurate load placement with a VFD
    • Mushroom emergency STOP – drops the MAIN relay and the main contactor
    • Key switch – unauthorised persons cannot use the remote
    • START button – the system is switched on only by a deliberate action
    • Function buttons and toggle switches – for auxiliary functions, e.g. horn or lighting
    • 12 V AC/DC receiver – connects directly to a control circuit of that voltage

How does it differ from similar models?

    • EL-F24-60-24 – 24 V AC/DC receiver – choose for a 24 V control circuit
    • EL-F24-60-48 – 24–48 V AC/DC receiver – choose for a 24–48 V control circuit, e.g. 36 or 48 V AC
    • EL-F24-60 – receiver versions within 12–440 V AC/DC – choose for 110–400 V AC or other control voltages
    • ES-D1 – 4 proportional levers, 12/24 V DC, up to 500 m – choose when proportional control for hydraulics or a longer range is needed

    Where is it used?

    • Overhead and gantry cranes with several motions
    • Hoists with VFD-controlled travel
    • Production halls and steel warehouses
    • Lifting machinery on construction sites
    • Winches and special lifting equipment
    • Battery-powered and mobile equipment with 12 V control

    Use by need

    For electricians
the receiver connects to the existing 12 V AC/DC control circuit, relay outputs are assigned to contactor coils and VFD inputs
    For manufacturers
one operator runs the crane from a safe distance and sees the load up close
    For construction sites / yards
up to ~100 m in open space and a belly-box transmitter for long outdoor work

    Practical use

If the control of a small winch or lift is powered from a 12 V battery, the EL-F24-60-12 receiver is connected to the same 12 V circuit and its relays switch the 12 V contactor coils – no converter or transformer is needed.

    Pros

    • Two joysticks – several motions at once
    • 5 speed steps for smooth operation with a VFD
    • 12 V AC/DC receiver – straight into the control circuit
    • Mushroom STOP and key switch
    • Belly-box transmitter with strap for long shifts

    Cons / limitations

    • 5 speed steps are useful only with a VFD or multi-speed drive; a simple single-speed hoist only needs a push-button remote, e.g. ES-F21-E1-TX
    • The receiver is for 12 V control circuits only – for 24 V or 48 V systems choose EL-F24-60-24 or EL-F24-60-48
    • The transmitter is larger and heavier than push-button remotes
    • 315 MHz is not a standard SRD band in the EU – choose the 433 MHz version or check the permit

    Safety and installation notes

    • Receiver relays switch only contactor coils and control inputs – motor current must never pass through them
    • The MAIN relay must drop the main contactor KM0; at commissioning check that STOP and loss of radio link stop the crane (EN 60204-32)
    • Limit switches (SQ) and the NC interlock between opposite directions stay in the circuit
    • Speed-step relays are wired to the multi-speed inputs of the VFD; speeds are set in the drive
    • The receiver supply voltage must match the control circuit: 12 V AC/DC
    • Before installation or repair switch off the main isolator and apply LOTO

    Quick selection guide

    2 joysticks
    5 speeds
    12 V AC/DC
    15 A relays

    Check before ordering:

    • Are the contactor coils and control circuit 12 V AC/DC?
    • Check whether the frequency is allowed in your country: 315 MHz is not a standard SRD band in the EU, 433 MHz is.
    • How many motions and speeds are needed, and does the drive have a VFD for the 5 steps?

    FAQ

Which F24-60 version should I choose?
    Choose EL-F24-60-12 when the contactor coils and control circuit are 12 V AC or DC. Otherwise: 12 V – EL-F24-60-12, 24 V – EL-F24-60-24, 24–48 V – EL-F24-60-48, other voltages – EL-F24-60.
Can a motor be connected directly to the receiver?
No. The receiver relays are for the control circuit – they switch contactor coils or VFD inputs, and the motor is switched by the contactor or drive.
How do the 5 speed steps work?
Each joystick step energises a separate receiver relay wired to a VFD speed input. With a single-speed motor and no VFD only the direction command is used.
What happens if the radio link is lost?
The receiver drops the MAIN relay, which drops the main contactor KM0, so the crane stops. This must be tested at commissioning.
Is 315 MHz allowed in Europe?
315 MHz is not a standard SRD band in the EU, 433 MHz is. Specify the frequency when ordering and check whether it is permitted in your country.
What batteries does the transmitter use?
The transmitter runs on 3 × AA batteries. It is worth keeping a spare set near the crane.
