Membrane cable entry grommet | for cable Ø12–18 mm | for TITAN 5 boards | grey | IP54 | IEK | YIS50-VS-K03
IEK YIS50-VS-K03 is an entry grommet with a membrane sealing element, designed for bringing wires and cables into IEK TITAN 5 board enclosures. It seals one cable with an outer diameter of 12–18 mm. It is not a rectangular plate but a separate single-cable entry.
Key point:
TITAN 5 board enclosures have cable openings, but without a seal dust and moisture get into the board through them, and the cable sheath rubs against the metal edge. YIS50-VS-K03 closes the opening and wraps the cable with a membrane, so the cable is protected against mechanical damage and the board against dust and splashing water to IP54. It is the manufacturer's accessory for the same enclosure series.Cable Ø

IEK TITAN 5How it works
Installation: the grommet is fitted into the cable opening of the TITAN 5 enclosure (enclosure wall 0.8–1 mm).
Operation: make an opening in the membrane slightly smaller than the cable Ø and push the cable through – the membrane wraps around it.
Result: the cable is protected against rubbing on metal, and the entry point is sealed to IP54.
Why choose YIS50-VS-K03?
YIS50-VS-K03 is an original IEK accessory for TITAN 5 boards, so there is no need to check whether a seal will fit the manufacturer's enclosure. One grommet – one cable Ø12–18 mm, for example a supply cable into an apartment or house board.Technical specifications
Product type Membrane cable entry grommet Code YIS50-VS-K03 Manufacturer IEK Series TITAN 5 (UNIVERSAL) Cable Ø 12–18 mm Number of cables 1 Enclosure wall thickness 0.8–1 mm (according to distributors) Degree of protection IP54 (EN 60529) Operating temperature −40…+80 °C Material polypropylene Colour grey Main functions
- Membrane sealing – the membrane wraps around the cable without a nut.
- For cable Ø12–18 mm – for typical supply cables.
- IP54 protection – against dust and splashing water.
- Protection against chafing – the cable sheath does not touch the metal edge.
- Manufacturer's accessory for TITAN 5 enclosures – matched to the IEK board series.
- Operating temperature −40…+80 °C – also suitable for unheated rooms.
Where is it used?
- IEK TITAN 5 apartment and house distribution boards
- Staircase and corridor boards
- Garage and storage room boards
- Office floor distribution boards
- Distribution boards in commercial premises
- Basement and plant room boards
Use by need
For the residential electrician.
The supply cable enters the TITAN 5 board neatly and away from the sharp metal edge – no hunting for extra seals. For the building manager.
Closed cable openings in basement or staircase boards – less dust and moisture in the devices. For the wholesale buyer.
An original IEK accessory for the same enclosure series – fewer returns due to the wrong size.Practical use
If a supply cable with an outer Ø of about 15 mm enters a wall-mounted TITAN 5 board in a basement, fit YIS50-VS-K03 into the enclosure opening, make an opening in the membrane slightly smaller than 15 mm and push the cable through. Fix the cable inside the board so it is not pulled through the membrane.Pros
- Original IEK accessory for TITAN 5 enclosures
- Range Ø12–18 mm for typical supply cables
- IP54 protection
- Temperature resistance −40…+80 °C
- Cable sheath protected from the metal edge
Cons / limitations
- IP54 – against splashing, but not jets or immersion; for higher protection – gland with nut 00872 (PG21, Ø13–18 mm, IP68).
- The membrane does not provide strain relief – fix the cable inside the board.
- For a thinner cable (from Ø5 mm) – IEK YSA40-25-27-68-K01 (Ø5–19.5 mm, for a Ø27 mm hole).
- The enclosure opening size is not stated in the sources – check compatibility for other manufacturers' enclosures.
Safety and installation notes
- Bring the cable into the board only with the voltage switched off and its absence verified.
- Make the membrane opening slightly smaller than the cable's outer Ø – an oversized opening will not seal.
- One grommet – one cable.
- Fix the cable inside the board – the membrane does not take up tension.
- If you enlarged the opening in the enclosure, remove swarf and sharp edges.
