    KUPO G is designed for bringing one thick power or control cable into a distribution board, cabinet or equipment enclosure. It is a conical stepped membrane with a rectangular 100×87 mm flange: the cone is cut to the cable diameter and the flange is screwed to the wall.

    Key point:
    One product covers cables from Ø16 to Ø61.4 mm – there is no need to stock many gland sizes or know the exact cable diameter when ordering. This is convenient on site when the diameter of the incoming cable only becomes clear during installation.

    How it works

    The flange is screwed to the enclosure wall through Ø8.2 mm fixing holes (hole spacing 80 / 57 mm).

    The cone is cut at the step slightly smaller than the cable's outer Ø, the cable is pushed through, and the cone end is tightened on the cable with a clip, as specified by the manufacturer.

    The result is an IP65 entry for one cable, resistant to temperatures from −40 to +130 °C and to oil splashes.

    Practical use

    If an incoming cable with an outer Ø of 42 mm must enter an outdoor distribution cabinet, the flange is screwed to the cabinet wall, the cone is cut at the Ø36.2 mm step, the cable is pushed through, the cone end is tightened with a clip and the cable is secured inside the cabinet with a holder.

    Cons / limitations

    • For a cable thicker than Ø61.4 mm choose HTX-1 (Ø55–70 mm)
    • The membrane does not provide strain relief – secure the cable inside or choose a gland with a nut (e.g. 00933 PG63, Ø42–50 mm)
    • It is not a fire barrier

    Safety and installation notes

    • Work on the incoming cable only with the voltage switched off on the supply side and its absence verified.
    • Cut the cone at the step slightly smaller than the cable's outer Ø – an oversized opening will not seal.
    • One cone – one cable; never pass two cables through one membrane.
    • After cutting, clean the opening edges of swarf and burrs.
    • Secure the thick cable inside with a holder so that its weight and tension are not transferred to the terminals.
