  • pH level sensor | pH 0…14 | 5 V DC | 80 cm cable | analog input | for D105 pulse analyzer | smart-MAIC | pH Level

Submersible pH sensor for measuring water acidity in aquariums, pools, water supply and treatment systems. It connects to the analog input of the smart-MAIC D105 pulse analyzer and is powered from its 5 V terminal. The pH value is calculated from the voltage using a calibration formula in the dashboard.

    Key point:
Instead of occasional strip tests or a handheld meter, you see a continuous pH curve and get a notification when the value leaves the set range. No separate power supply is needed – three wires go straight to the D105. Accuracy depends on calibration, so calibrate before first use and repeat it periodically.

    Connection to D105 and integration

    • Analog input (ADC, terminal 5) – The signal wire (yellow, Po) goes to the D105 analog input. The signal is well below the 18 V DC input limit.
    • Power (terminals 6 and 1) – Red wire (V+) to D105 +5 V (terminal 6), black wire (G) to GND (terminal 1). No separate power source is required.
    • Calibration – Two-point calibration with buffer solutions; the resulting linear formula (pH = a − b × ADC) is entered as an arithmetic operation in the dashboard.
    • Cloud, MQTT, API – The pH value is shown in the smart-MAIC dashboard, can be sent via MQTT / API and used for notifications or D105 relay control.

    Operating principle

The probe is immersed in the water being measured, while the signal board with its terminals is placed in a dry spot near the D105. Three wires connect to D105 terminals 1, 5 and 6.

The pH electrode produces a voltage that depends on water acidity; the board converts it into an analog signal measured by the D105.

In the dashboard you see the live pH value and its history, and set limits for notifications or relay control; the same data is available via MQTT and API.

Why choose the pH Level sensor?
You get continuous visibility of water acidity where you used to check it by hand, alongside other D105 readings – water consumption, temperature, pressure. Deviations show up immediately, not when the problem is already visible in the water.

    Key functions

    • Continuous pH measurement – value and history in the cloud without manual checks
    • Powered by the D105 – no separate 5 V power supply needed
    • Calibration formula in the dashboard – pH is calculated from voltage using your calibration
    • Limit notifications – you know when pH is too low or too high
    • Relay logic – the D105 relay can switch an alarm or control circuit
    • Combined data – pH, temperature and water consumption in one D105

How does it differ from similar products?

    • TDS Level – Measures dissolved salts (ppm), not acidity. It uses the same analog input, so one D105 takes either pH or TDS.
    • 4in1 soil sensor – Measures soil pH (pH 3…9) together with moisture, temperature and EC; connects via RS485, not the analog input.
    • DS18b20 – Water temperature via the 1-Wire input – a good complement to pH that uses a different D105 input.

    Where is it used?

    • Aquariums and aquaculture tanks
    • Private and public swimming pools
    • Water treatment and filtration units
    • Hydroponic and greenhouse irrigation tanks
    • Rainwater harvesting tanks
    • Training and laboratory benches

    Use by need

    Pool owners.
See how pH changes after chemical dosing and get notified when the water is out of range.
    Hydroponics and greenhouse growers.
Track nutrient solution acidity and correct it on time instead of by guesswork.
    Water treatment service technicians.
Monitor several sites remotely and drive out only when the data shows a deviation.

    Practical use

If pool pH is checked with test strips once a week, the pH Level sensor with a D105 shows the value continuously: with limits set to, for example, pH 7.2…7.6, you are notified as soon as the value leaves the range, and the D105 relay can switch on a warning lamp.

    Pros

    • Connects without a separate power supply
    • Three wires – simple connection to the D105
    • Full range pH 0…14
    • Data in the cloud, via MQTT and API
    • Combines with a temperature sensor and water meter on the same D105

    Cons / limitations

    • Occupies the only D105 analog input – TDS, G1/4 pressure or mH2O level sensors cannot be connected at the same time
    • Calibration is required before use and periodically – buffer solutions are needed
    • Operating temperature only +5…+60 °C – not suitable for tanks that freeze
    • Like any pH electrode, it needs care: clean gently and do not let it dry out

    Safety and installation notes

    • The D105 is mounted in an enclosure on a DIN rail; the 230 V side is wired by a qualified electrician with the power off
    • Keep the signal board and terminals dry – only the probe is meant to be submerged
    • Route signal wires separately from power cables to avoid interference
    • Rinse the probe with distilled water between calibration solutions

    Quick selection guide

    0.2 pH
    5 V DC from D105
    Analog input
    Suitable when you need:
    • continuous remote monitoring of water acidity
    • notifications or relay control based on pH limits
    • pH data together with other D105 readings
    Check before use:
    • that the D105 analog input is free
    • that the water temperature is within +5…+60 °C
    • that you have buffer solutions for calibration
Important reminder: The sensor works only with the smart-MAIC D105 pulse analyzer (sold separately) and will not show an accurate pH value without calibration. It measures only – it does not dose chemicals.

    FAQ

Do I need a separate power supply?
No – the sensor is powered from the D105 +5 V terminal.
Which D105 input does it connect to?
To the analog input (ADC, terminal 5).
Can I connect pH and TDS sensors together?
Not to one D105 – both use the same analog input; the second sensor needs another D105.
    How often should I calibrate?
Before first use and periodically; more often in contaminated water.
    Is it suitable for soil?
No, it is a submersible probe for water; use the 4in1 sensor for soil.
Can it be connected directly to the D103 network analyzer?
No, sensors in this group connect only to the D105.
