  • Water level (depth) sensor | 0…10 m H2O | 0–10 V | 24 V DC | analog input | for D105 pulse analyzer | smart-MAIC | mH2O

    Code: mH2O

A submersible IP68 sensor for measuring water level in a tank, well or borehole in the 0…10 m range with 0.5% FS accuracy. It connects to the analog input of the smart-MAIC D105 with a 0–10 V output. 24 V DC supply is not included.

  • Water level (depth) sensor | 0…10 m H2O | 0–10 V | 24 V DC | analog input | for D105 pulse analyzer | smart-MAIC | mH2O

The mH2O is a submersible water level sensor that measures the height of the water column above it in the 0…10 m range. It is lowered into a tank, well or borehole and connected to the analog input of the smart-MAIC D105 pulse analyzer. The IP68 housing is designed for continuous operation under water.

    Key point:
Knowing the water level remotely means no more guessing how much is left in a tank or whether water is rising in a drainage well. The D105 converts the 0–10 V signal into metres, shows the history and notifies you of a low or high level. The sensor needs a separate 24 V DC supply – the D105 does not provide it.
    Range
    0…10 m H2O
    Output
    0–10 V
    Accuracy
    0.5% FS
    Power supply
    24 V DC (not included)

    Connection to D105 and integration

    • Analog input 0.1–18 V DC – The sensor's signal wire connects to D105 terminal 5 (ADC). The 0–10 V output fits within the D105 input limit (up to 18 V).
    • 24 V DC power supply – The sensor is powered from a separate 24 V DC supply (not included). The supply negative (GND) must be connected to D105 terminal 1 (GND). Never connect 24 V to the D105 inputs – it exceeds the 18 V limit.
    • Conversion – Coefficient K = 10 m / 10 V = 1, i.e. 1 V equals 1 m of water column. The formula is entered in a dashboard arithmetic operation.
    • Cloud, MQTT, API – The level is shown on a chart and transmitted via MQTT and API; the D105 relay can control a pump via a contactor.

    How it works

The sensor is lowered to the bottom of the tank, well or borehole and secured so it does not move. The cable is routed to the panel: signal to D105 terminal 5, power to the 24 V DC supply, supply negative to D105 terminal 1.

The sensor measures the pressure of the water column above it and converts it into a 0–10 V signal proportional to depth. The D105 measures this voltage on its analog input.

On the dashboard you see the water level in metres and how it changes over a day or season, and receive a notification when the level reaches a set limit.

Why choose the mH2O level sensor?
It turns any tank or well into a monitored asset: you see the level on your phone, get a warning before overflow or running dry and can automate the pump. One analog input, a clear 1 V = 1 m conversion.

    Technical specifications

Connection to D105 analog input (terminal 5), 24 V DC supply GND to D105 terminal 1

    Key functions

    • Level measurement 0…10 m – for tanks, wells, boreholes and reservoirs.
    • 0.5% FS accuracy – about ±5 cm across the full range.
    • IP68 housing – for continuous submerged operation.
    • 0–10 V output – simple conversion: 1 V = 1 m.
    • Limit notifications – a warning before overflow or running dry.
    • Pump automation – the D105 relay switches a pump on or off by level via a contactor.

How does it differ from similar products?

    • G1/4 pressure sensor – Screws into pipework and measures pressure up to 12 bar, powered at 5 V from the D105; the mH2O is submerged and shows level but needs 24 V DC.
    • DN15 flow sensor – Counts flowed water via a pulse input – together with the mH2O it shows both consumption and the remaining volume in the tank.
    • TDS Level – Measures water salinity via the same analog input – it will not work alongside the mH2O in one D105.

    Where is it used?

    • drinking or irrigation water tanks
    • wells and boreholes
    • rainwater harvesting reservoirs
    • drainage and sewage wells
    • firefighting water reservoirs
    • ponds and pools

    Use by need

    Homeowner with a borehole.
Monitors the borehole water level and sees whether there is enough water for the pump during a drought.
    Utility or plant technician.
Monitors drainage or sewage well levels remotely and gets a notification before overflow.
    Rainwater system installer.
Shows the customer how full the reservoir is and automates top-up from the mains.

    Practical use

If a rainwater reservoir is used for irrigation and runs empty in a dry summer, the mH2O sensor on the D105 shows the level and, when it drops below the set limit, the D105 relay opens the mains top-up valve via an intermediate relay and sends a notification.

    Pros

    • IP68 – for continuous operation under water
    • 0.5% FS accuracy
    • wide operating temperature range −20…+85 °C
    • clear conversion 1 V = 1 m
    • 0–10 V output fits within the D105 input limits
    • cloud data, notifications and pump automation

    Cons / limitations

    • requires a separate 24 V DC power supply
    • the D105 has one analog input – it cannot be used together with a G1/4, TDS, pH or TEMT6000 sensor in one D105
    • 0…10 m range – deeper boreholes need a different range (available from the manufacturer on request)
    • dirty or greasy wastewater can foul the sensor – periodic maintenance is needed

    Safety and installation notes

    • Connect the 24 V DC supply only to the sensor's power wires; only the 0–10 V signal goes to the D105 analog input.
    • Always connect the supply GND to D105 GND (terminal 1), otherwise readings will be incorrect.
    • Check the sensor output voltage with a multimeter before connecting it to the D105.
    • Suspend or fix the sensor so that currents do not lift it and it does not hang on the signal cable alone without support.
    • The D105 relay is rated up to 50 W; control the pump via a contactor.

    Quick selection guide

    0…10 m H2O
    0–10 V
    24 V DC
    IP68
    Suitable when you need:
    • to monitor water level in a tank or well remotely
    • to protect against overflow or running dry
    • to automate a pump by level
    Check before use:
    • that you have a 24 V DC power supply
    • that the D105 analog input is free
    • that the measured depth does not exceed 10 m
Important reminder: The sensor does not work without the D105 and a separate 24 V DC supply. It does not replace an emergency overflow switch or pump dry-run protection where such protection is required.

    FAQ

Which D105 input does the sensor connect to?
To the analog input – terminal 5 (ADC); the 24 V DC supply GND to D105 terminal 1.
Does the D105 power the sensor?
No, a separate 24 V DC power supply is required and is not included.
How is voltage converted into metres?
    Coefficient K = 1: 1 V equals 1 m of water column.
Can a borehole deeper than 10 m be measured?
This sensor's range is 0…10 m; other ranges are supplied by the manufacturer on request.
Is it suitable for sewage wells?
Yes, the IP68 housing allows submersion, but in contaminated media the sensor needs periodic cleaning.
    What accuracy can be expected?
    0.5% FS – about ±5 cm over the 10 m range.
